Mock BCA Admission Test Site

The Motivation

I wanted to help myself and my middle school friends practice under realistic Bergen County Academies (BCA) exam constraints without relying on expensive prep software. I realized I could use my coding skills to solve a real-world student need by building a web application that simulates the testing environment, timing constraints, and question formats.

The Process & Prompt Engineering

Using the Lovable.dev AI platform, I rapidly prototyped UI elements, timer algorithms, and question navigation. Through iterative prompt engineering, I refined an interactive test app featuring three main capabilities:

1. Timed Test Sections: strict timers to simulate the real exam pressure.
2. Instant Score Feedback: automatic score calculators with feedback summaries.
3. Realistic Question Sets: sample math and essay questions structured like the real test.

Using my technical skills to directly support my peers was a rewarding challenge that taught me how to gather user feedback and iterate on a product.
